THE PLANNING PROCESS
The Missouri River Ecosystem Restoration Plan and Environmental Impact Statement is a large study. The Missouri River is the longest river in the United States and its basin, which encompasses more than a half-million square miles, is the second largest in the United States. There are many people, organizations, and agencies that need to be involved in the study for it to be successful.

The study has been divided into four phases with 10 steps that are anticipated to be completed by 2016, as pictured in the graphic below. Public input will be sought throughout the study; including formal comment periods during each of the four phases.

End of 1st Public Scoping Period

The Missouri River Ecosystem Restoration Plan public scoping comment period has come to an end. Thank you for all of your valuable input! There will be other opportunities to comment during future comment periods.
