Missouri River
Current Actions

Many actions have been undertaken to promote ecosystem recovery and prevent jeopardy of several species on the Missouri River. These actions are designed to one day lead to a self-sustaining, naturalized Missouri River Ecosystem.
Additional information about current monitoring and research actions within the Missouri River basin can be found through the following links. Select the appropriate link to the left or below.
Monitoring Several monitoring efforts have been undertaken to assess population and habitat quality and trends. These continued efforts will inform existing and future research efforts as well as guide management action focus.
Research A Research team exists and will work within the Science process to ensure that the information needed for the species, habitat, socio-economics, or policy decisions is obtained timely through an open, transparent process. Current research efforts are focusing on evaluating management actions' benefit to target species and developing methodologies for future monitoring efforts.
